Davenports Pizza Palace is a well-loved family owned and operated pizza business that has been a staple in the Birmingham community since 1964. It all began over 50 years ago when founder Rex Hollis named his pizza palace after his longtime friend, Jim “Peanut” Davenport, who was a professional baseball player with the San Francisco Giants during the 1962 World Series.

Serving Mountain Brook and Vestavia (since 2022), Davenports has become a weekly tradition for families to enjoy a unique dining experience of freshly made pizza with a side of nostalgic movie pictures and vintage video games. To this day, they still only serve pizza and salad, but they pride themselves on doing one thing and doing it well!

Our team’s

Because Davenports is such a beloved and recognizable business in the Birmingham community, Amanda Thames was a little hesitant about a total rebrand. However, we assured her that we could keep the same nostalgic feel of their original branding while still updating it to bring a fresh look into the 21st century! We established a cohesive brand identity by creating a color palette and typography to be used across all assets including menus, social media graphics and website design.

Loved working with AMD on branding, website refresh, and more! Adelaide, Anna, and the rest of the team are professional, timely, and very thorough. Would definitely recommend!”

OUR DAVENPORT’S STORY CAMPAIGN

For over 58 years, Davenports pizza has been a place where memories are made. We spent a few months asking families to share what it is about Davenport’s that keeps them coming back. This social campaign reflects what is most important to everyone at Davenports’ - the community.
