El Viaje is a handmade mountain Raicilla company founded by Andrew Bernauer. Andrew traveled 1,600 miles to Jalisco, Mexico to immerse himself in the culture and the process of creating Raicilla, a beautifully complex agave distilled spirit. He was committed to creating and bringing this mysterious spirit to Alabama for the first time. He left Jalisco with the perfect recipe – from there, El Viaje was born.

Our team’s
Andrew came to AMD for a brand and label design. Hand drawing the intricate designs on her iPad, Adelaide took inspiration from the town of Mascota, Jalisco, Mexico where the alcohol is distilled from fresh agave plants. The motifs and hand drawn icons resemble those same markings found around the Mayan ruins throughout Mexico.
The vibrant, earthy color palette reflects the orange clay, the green mountains, the blue sky and the sun’s golden hue. Fun fact: This was the first iteration and Andrew loved it! With the same concepts in mind, we also designed El Viaje’s website
