Grab A Bite & Catch A Game 🏈🍻
We’re ready to cheer for Taylor & Travis.
Pilcrow: This bar decorates for Halloween and releases a themed menu with seasonal drinks that always hit. It’s located in a dark cellar, so, by default, it's spooky 365 days a year!
Back Forty: This is a great place to watch football. They have multiple tv screens and a huge back room with plenty of seating that’s super popular with sports fans. They also have an outdoor space with fire pits to enjoy on cozy fall nights.
Avondale Brewing: This is an ideal indoor and outdoor space to watch all sporting events. They're located near a bunch of restaurants, so you can grab food, sit on their lawn and hang out with friends.
Cahaba Brewing: This brewing company always has trivia nights and games playing on tv. Fun fact: Adelaide won 3rd place at Taylor Swift trivia here! She was ready for it.
Watch The Leaves Change 🍂🍁
It’s giving When Harry Met Sally.
Ruffner Mountain: They offer many programs that are either free or cheap to attend for non-members. Mary went on a spider night hike here – there were interactive activities, lectures on spiders and a night hike where two expert naturalists ID’d the critters. They also host community events like their native plant sale in October!
Hospital Boulders: Enjoy nature an hour away from Birmingham! It has beautiful rock formations, making it a wonderful place to climb with friends.
Oak Mountain: This Birmingham classic has hiking and biking trails, as well as a lake inside the park that’s perfect for a fall picnic or to rent a canoe or kayak.
Lakeshore Parkway: Bike, walk or run while enjoying beautiful scenes that wind through creeks and bridges.
Get Cozy & Grab A Little Treat ☕🥧
Our version of Luke’s Diner.
Grounds: All of their syrups are handmade and the coffee is amazing. They host fun community events and sell curated goods to support poc/queer and small businesses. They’re located in the same space as Basic. – grab a fall drink and shop around!
Ritual and Shelter: The staff is absolutely wonderful and so helpful! They sell crystals, incense, spell books, journals and more. They offer tarot readings and dream interpretations.
East Pole Coffee: They’re tucked away and pretty quiet, creating immaculate work vibes for you to grab a tasty coffee and zone in!
Church Street Coffee: They have a front patio that’s perfect for reading. Pick up a coffee and a cozy new book!
Get Your Fall Fit 🧣👢
It’s Princess Diana in a crewneck & biker shorts weather.
Lovelady: This huge thrift store has everything: Shoes, sweaters, clothes, accessories and the best home decor.
America’s Thrift Store (Alabaster): This is the best place for clothes, specifically. They have amazing coats, vests, scarves and purses.
Basic.: This ethically-made, women-owned clothing store offers beautiful and timeless clothes, sourced from fiber artists worldwide.
Anthropologie: The staff at The Summit location is always so sweet and helpful when it comes to shopping for event clothing. Also, we love their sales rack!
Fabletics: We’re declaring it a Sporty Spice fall with jumpsuits and leggings from Fabletics!
Enjoy All The Fall Fun 🎃🍎
The apple’s rotten right to the core.
Old Baker Farm Pumpkin Patch: They have all kinds of local goods and fair-type food – their lemonade is delicious. Enjoy the pumpkin patch, hayrides, horse rides, petting zoo and corn maze!
Symphony in the Gardens: This is a free event at the Birmingham Botanical Gardens. They even sell picnic baskets for the perfect fall outing!
Birmingham Punk Rock Flea Market: This Halloween-themed market features local vendors offering art, clothing, oddities and vintage pieces. It’s at Cahaba Brewery, so there’s plenty of indoor/outdoor spaces, food trucks and good drinks.
Sloss Furnace: This is a spooky and fun place to walk around. Take a guided tour to learn about its history and the ghost that might haunt the place…
Atrox: Beware: Go here if you truly want to be scared. Their Maze of Horrors is the perfect way to get spooked (we’re guilty of screaming the whole way through).
While you enjoy all of the fall fun Bham has to offer, check out POV it’s fall in the 90s and you’re heading to work (best listened to while dramatically looking out the coffee shop window or walking through the crunchy leaves on a chilly October day).
