Meet the

Owner Laura Richardson opened NOVA Physical Therapy and Wellness (named after her hometown, Nova Scotia) in 2021 with the goal of creating one-on-one treatment plans that are highly individualized for each patient. Their holistic, comprehensive and sustainable approach empowers growth and healing of the body, mind and spirit. Their hope is to provide their clients with the knowledge and tools necessary to be an active participant in their own healing and wellness journey throughout their lifetime.

Our team’s

Laura came to AMD wanting to start her own practice from the ground up. We began by assessing her personal style and gathering branding inspiration from other physical therapy and healthcare-related brands in Birmingham. We wanted to design a brand identity that felt clean, geometric, modern, professional and holistic. The final design is clean and simple; it displays two interconnected circles that evoke inclusivity and community to symbolize NOVA's holistic approach. We recommended a brand book to keep all print and digital collateral consistent across all platforms.

We also created their mission statement and tagline:
Mission: At NOVA Physical Therapy and Wellness, we believe health and wellness are proactive journeys and that the quality of care received along the way is crucial to effective treatment. Everyone’s path to recovery is unique and should be treated as such. We encourage quick recovery through a holistic, sustainable experience grounded in personalized attention to your needs…because your mobility matters.

AMD (I worked most closely with Mary) did such a great job helping me with my branding, logo, website, etc. for my PT clinic. Mary always got things done in a timely manner and made everything look so good. I regularly get compliments on the business cards she designed and on my website. She’s helped me with other small projects since then. If you are trying to do this work on your own, I would 100% recommend spending the money (prices are also reasonable!) to hire AMD. I used to think I could do some of the things they helped me with on my own but it was so worth having help- they did such a better job and did it way faster than I ever could, which let me spend my time doing the other things for my business that I’m actually good at!
